Definition
A neurological condition characterized by the inability to perform voluntary movements or actions despite having the desire and physical ability to do so
Clinical context
A 65-year-old stroke patient presents with inability to perform purposeful movements despite intact muscle strength and sensation. The patient can feel the object in their hand but cannot intentionally grasp or use it appropriately, though they can perform these actions automatically during sleep.
