arteriopathy
Definition
A pathological condition affecting the arteries
Clinical context
A 65-year-old male presents with intermittent claudication in his left leg, with pain occurring after walking 200 meters and relieved with rest. Physical examination reveals weak dorsalis pedis pulses bilaterally. Ankle-brachial index is 0.6. These findings are consistent with peripheral arterial disease, a form of arteriopathy affecting the arteries of the lower extremities.
Mnemonic
