Clinical context
A 55-year-old man presents with persistent pain and swelling in his left thigh for 3 months. Imaging reveals a large mass with areas of calcification in the femur. Histopathological examination shows malignant cells with chondrocytic differentiation and cartilaginous matrix production. The tumor is diagnosed as chondrosarcoma, a malignant neoplasm originating from cartilage tissue.
