A type of cancer characterized by the overproduction of mature lymphocytes in the blood and bone marrow, leading to an increased risk of infections and other complications
Clinical context
A 68-year-old man presents to the clinic for a routine checkup with a history of hypertension and diabetes. His complete blood count reveals an elevated white blood cell count with numerous mature-appearing lymphocytes. He reports frequent respiratory infections over the past few months and mild fatigue.
