Definition
Nosebleed; bleeding from the nose
Clinical context
A 32-year-old patient presents to the emergency department with sudden onset of severe nosebleed after picking his nose. The bleeding is profuse and originating from the anterior nares. On examination, bright red blood is seen flowing from the nasal cavity with no signs of posterior bleeding. Vital signs are stable and there is no evidence of significant blood loss.
