Definition

A pathological condition characterized by the formation of granulomas (small nodules of inflammatory tissue)

Clinical context

A 45-year-old man presents with a 2-month history of fatigue, weight loss, and productive cough. Chest X-ray reveals bilateral hilar lymphadenopathy and nodular infiltrates. Biopsy of the lung tissue shows non-caseating granulomas with epithelioid cells and giant cells. His ACE levels are elevated. What is the most likely diagnosis?
