Clinical context

A 3-month-old infant presents with a rapidly growing red nodule on the back that has been present since birth. The lesion is soft and compressible, and the child's mother reports that it has grown significantly over the past few weeks. Physical examination reveals a well-circumscribed, bright red vascular lesion measuring 2.5 cm in diameter.
