Definition
A condition characterized by insufficient production of hormones by the pituitary gland
Clinical context
A 45-year-old woman presents with fatigue, weight gain, and cold intolerance. She has a history of head trauma from a car accident 2 years ago. Physical examination reveals dry skin, bradycardia, and decreased libido. Laboratory studies show low TSH, LH, FSH, and growth hormone levels. MRI of the brain shows a mass compressing the pituitary gland.
