Clinical context
A 25-year-old athlete presents after a sports injury sustained during soccer practice. Physical examination reveals instability of the knee joint with positive Lachman test. MRI confirms complete rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament. The patient undergoes arthroscopic ligamentoplasty to reconstruct the damaged ligament. Postoperatively, the patient requires 6 months of rehabilitation to regain full function.
