lymphadenosis
Definition
An abnormal condition characterized by the enlargement or pathological changes in lymph nodes
Clinical context
A 32-year-old woman presents with progressive swelling of lymph nodes in her neck and armpits over the past 6 weeks. Physical examination reveals multiple firm, non-tender lymph nodes measuring 1-3 cm. Further workup shows no evidence of infection but demonstrates generalized lymphadenopathy with abnormal lymph node morphology on biopsy.
Mnemonic
Lymphadenosis = Lymph nodes enlarged (L) - think 'L' for enlarged lymph nodes
