lymphangiomatosis
Definition
A rare condition characterized by the development of multiple benign tumors (lymphangiomata) in lymphatic vessels throughout the body
Clinical context
A 28-year-old woman presents with progressive swelling of her arms and legs over several months. Physical examination reveals soft, non-pitting edema with multiple small, flesh-colored nodules on her skin. Imaging studies show multiple cystic lesions in the lymphatic channels. Biopsy confirms benign lymphatic proliferation.
Mnemonic
Lymphangiomatosis: 'Lymph' vessels filled with 'Angio' tumors - think 'Lymph-Angio' for lymphatic tumors
