surgical procedure to fix or anchor a kidney in its normal position
Clinical context
A 23-year-old male presents with right flank pain and hematuria after a motor vehicle accident. Imaging reveals a displaced kidney with loss of normal positional relationship to the spine and surrounding structures. He undergoes nephropexy to reposition and secure the kidney in its proper anatomical location.
