panhypopituitarism
Definition
A rare endocrine disorder characterized by the deficiency of all hormones produced by the anterior pituitary gland
Clinical context
A 35-year-old woman presents with fatigue, weight gain, cold intolerance, and amenorrhea for 6 months. Laboratory studies reveal low TSH, LH, FSH, Growth hormone, and Prolactin levels. MRI shows a large pituitary adenoma compressing the gland. She requires hormone replacement therapy for all anterior pituitary hormones.
