paraphimosis
Definition
A medical condition where the foreskin is retracted behind the glans penis and cannot be returned to its normal position, causing constriction and potential complications
Clinical context
A 65-year-old male presents to the emergency department with severe pain and swelling of the glans penis after attempting to clean under the foreskin during a shower. The patient reports being unable to return the foreskin to its normal position. On examination, there is significant edema and constriction of the glans.
