A skin condition characterized by irregular pigmentation and texture
Clinical context
A 65-year-old woman presents with asymmetric patches of hyperpigmented and hypopigmented skin on her arms and face that have been gradually worsening over the past 5 years. The lesions are atrophic and have an irregular, mottled appearance with areas of both dark and light pigmentation. Physical examination reveals thinning of the affected skin with visible telangiectasias.
