Definition
A tumor arising from Sertoli cells in the testes, characterized by abnormal growth of these supportive cells that normally nourish developing sperm cells
Clinical context
A 35-year-old man presents with gradual onset of breast enlargement and gynecomastia. Physical examination reveals firm, painless testicular masses. Laboratory studies show elevated estrogen levels and normal testosterone levels. Imaging demonstrates bilateral testicular masses with characteristic 'pseudoglandular' appearance on ultrasound.
