Clinical context
A 28-year-old woman presents with pruritus and redness of the vulvar area for 3 days. She reports increased vaginal discharge and discomfort during urination. On examination, the labia majora and minora appear erythematous and swollen. A swab reveals candidal infection. What is the diagnosis? What is the most likely cause of her symptoms?
